Is there Cocaine, Meth or Heroin in Ecstasy?

Ecstasy' generally refers to street tablets of the chemical MDMA. Pure MDMA is what most people think and hope they are buying when they purchase a tablet of ecstasy. However, because there is a huge market for illegal ecstasy, it is quite common for street tablets to contain a variety of other chemicals. Generally these chemicals are added to produce an effect which inexperienced users may mistake for the effects of MDMA. These adulterant chemicals are presumably cheaper, more easily obtained, and sometimes legal...making the profit of the tablets greater for the producer.

There are persistent rumors of heroin in ecstasy--especially one that says that tablets with brown specks contain heroin--but this appears to be primarily a rumor. Looking at the results of several organizations that have done testing of the contents of ecstasy tablets over the past 12 years shows just one example of heroin in a tablet. It's possible that there are other individual examples that contain just about anything, but there is no reason to believe that ecstasy on the market contains heroin.
Meth and or other amphetamines are somewhat common as an adulterant. Not as common as MDE, MDA, DXM, Ephedrine and Caffeine...but amphetamines do show up in tested street tablets.
