What medications can be used to prevent the nausea caused by many entheogens?
Q: Is there any over-the-counter medicine that can be safely used to prevent the nausea that comes with using such entheogens as mescaline, 2CT7, and mushrooms? Since some cancer patients use marijuana to fight nausea from chemotherapy, would that work here too?
A: Many people find that Dramamine (dimenhydrinate) and other over-the-counter motion sickness medications, taken at standard dosages, can help reduce or eliminate the nausea caused by the use of psychedelics such as those you name. And yes, people also report that cannabis significantly reduces this type of nausea. It's important to remember that the use of cannabis in conjunction with potent psychedelics can amplify psychoactive effects (uncomfortably for some people).
