Are GHB, GBL, and 1,4-B legal in Canada?
Q: Is 1,4 Butanediol legal to possess, consume and/or sell in Canada (specifically B.C.)? Your information seems to apply only to the U.S. I would like to know the same info. re: GHB and GBL also.
A: As of December 31, 1999 (the most recent version posted by the Canadian govt), GHB was schedule III in Canada making it illegal to possess or sell. As of that time, neither 1,4-B nor GBL were listed in the schedules. We have been unable to find any information specific to the status of these substances in B.C., and remember that it's possible that they have been added to the Canadian schedules in the past 9 months.
