How long can a Cannabis plant be kept alive?
Q: |
Is it possible to grow cannabis plants for more than one year. I want to have my male plants in the living room, just like normal indoor-home-plants. |

Some people have had some success keeping cannabis plants alive for far longer than normal, even over a year. If you wish to try, you will have a much greater chance of success if you never let the plant flower. Any time you see flowers beginning to form, pinch them off. Keep the plant in the vegetative growth phase by giving it over 12 hours of light per day, which may require giving it some kind of artificial light during the winter (such as a cheap plant spotlight, available for under $20 at most garden shops). Keep it well fertilized. Prune it to encourage new growth. You may be able to dramatically extend its lifespan this way, but since cannabis is an annual, it will eventually exhaust itself and die.
