Why do I salivate so much after I take Ecstasy?
Q: |
I want to find out, why is it that my stomach makes a lot of saliva 24 hours after I had a "e"?
I take about 2 pills say one a week or 2 weeks. Every time I have taken it about 24 hours later I will produce a lot of saliva in my mouth, but I think it has something to do with my stomach, because I do get cramps but not to heavy, and the saliva is so bad that it is running out of my mouth like you have opened a tap. Last for about 12 - 16 hours and then clears up again. Sometimes when I have taken Losec it helps a bit. |

I've never heard before of this type of hypersalivation as a result of taking ecstasy before, but it sounds interesting. For those not familiar with Losec, I threw some notes at the bottom of this answer.
Some changes in the production of saliva and mucus are very common with many of the psychoactives, from 'dry mouth' from datura, to 'sticky mouth' from cannabis, to hypersalivation as a common effect of Amanita muscaria. LSD & psilocybin are also known to cause (usually small) changes in saliva and mucus, sometimes leading to coughing as the liquid runs down the throat, but the symptoms you describe are quite unusual.
Unfortunately I'm not sure there's much else we can tell you about this, but we'll keep the information on file in case others experience it. In a recent study which gave MDMA to healthy volunteers and recorded their reported side effects, 53% reported "dry mouth/thirst" as a side effect of MDMA use (compared to 3% with placebo).

Sorry we don't have more information about this for you,

Losec Info From Astrazeneca.com:
Omeprazole is used to treat diseases that are related to excess acid in the stomach. These include stomach ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (back flow of acid from the stomach into the oesophagus), and acid-related dyspepsia (discomfort following meals). Omeprazole is also used in combination with antibiotics to treat ulcers associated with stomach infection by the bacterium Helicobacter pylori, and to treat another illness called Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (a rare disease associated with ulcers and severely increased production of acid in the stomach).
Omeprazole is a type of medicine called an a proton-pump inhibitor. It works by blocking some special cells in the stomach called proton pumps which control acid production. |
