Can everclear be used to extract LSA from H.B. Woodrose seeds?
Q: In the LSA extracting recipe from Baby Hawaiian Woodrose seeds, it says that ethanol is the ideal (polar) chemical to use. Could everclear be used as a subsitute since it is the highest proof of drinkable alcohol out there?

A: Drinkable alcohol is ethanol. Everclear is 95% ethanol and 5% water so it falls squarely into the category of 'ethanol'. Industrial alcohol is sometimes "denatured" to prevent people from drinking it by adding some methanol.

The LSA extraction method (#2) uses ethanol as the polar solvent because it evaporates relatively quickly. Water is also a very polar chemical and would serve the same purpose as ethanol except that it takes much longer to evaporate.
