Is it possible to synthesize THC?
Q: |
The other day I came across this text file where the writer claimed he knew how to make synthetic THC. I had never heard of anything like that and I don't really belive this person. Is there a process of synthesizing THC? And if there is, where can I find info on it? |

Yes, it is possible to synthesize THC. Many naturally occurring psychoactive chemicals can also be synthesized in the lab. In fact, the FDA approved drug Marinol, which was designed to be used medically in lieu of smoking mixtures, is exactly this. The synthesis process is quite involved, though anyone with access to a University library should be able to look it up.
Many recreational cannabis smokers who have gotten their hands on Marinol pills have reported that the high is not very exciting. It is most likely the delicate mixture of various cannabinoids that give good cannabis its typical (and quite varied at times) high.
