How is LSD blotter used/ingested?

How, exactly, are LSD blotters used? Are they left on the tongue for a long time, do they dissolve, or are they swallowed, or what? |

LSD blotter is paper which has had Lysergic Acid Diethylamide soaked into it and then dried. LSD can be absorbed sub-lingally if the blotter is held in the mouth, and can also be absorbed in the stomach if it's swallowed. Sub-lingual absorption is likely to lead to a faster onset of effects. For this reason, many people hold the blotter in their mouth for a few minutes or chew it a bit before swallowing it.
Alternately, some people swallow the blotter immediately while others choose not to swallow the blotter at all, but instead remove it from their mouth after holding it there and chewing on it or a while. As blotter is made of paper, it will not technically "dissolve" although it can fall apart or disintegrate a bit after being held in the mouth.
Theoretically, all of these methods are similarly effective though if the blotter is not eventually swallowed there is the possibility that some LSD could remain on the paper and not be ingested.
