Can police dogs detect heroin or cocaine?
Q: I know that police dogs can detect drugs such as marijuana but can they find any other substances such as heroin or cocaine?
A: Yes, definitely!



Dogs can be trained to respond to a wide variety of substances, though not all dogs are trained to detect all substances. Police dogs are most commonly trained to detect cannabis, cocaine, and heroin, as well as explosives. Training for MDMA detection is also becoming more common.
