By accessing this website, am I placing myself in any danger? I am unfamiliar with internet privacy laws. I do know that people get arrested for downloading child pornography, and things of that nature. Is the law going to break my door down, because I visited a drug oriented website? |

We get nearly 3 million unique visitors a year to Erowid. That includes students, teachers, lawyers, chemists, doctors, law enforcement, health care workers, counsellors, etc. Simply visiting Erowid doesn't imply anything about the visitor.
There is a significant difference between downloading child pornography (an act which is specifically illegal) and looking up information about psychoactive drugs. While some uses of some drugs are illegal, downloading or viewing information about those drugs is not illegal. The primary situations in which possess of information can be a legal issue are cases where the information could be used to show knowledge or intent.
For instance, if someone is caught breaking the law and claims that they weren't aware of the law, yet they possess information or are found to have read information on the internet which makes the law clear, having read that information could play a role in their prosecution.
