Can I get more information on the scheduled analogs of PCP?

Looking at the schedule 1 substances I see three common chemicals Ethylamine, Pyrrolidine and Thiophene these are listed as analogs of phencyclidine but there does not seem to be any information on them anywhere. could you please help as I know your goverment likes to ban things, but there is no information an these chemicals anywhere as to their abuse value |

The way these substances are worded in the controlled substance list is a bit confusing...but I believe you read it wrong. Ethylamine, pyrollidine, etc. are not analogs of PCP that are scheduled. Rather, you can use several different amines in the process of synthesizing PCP, and end up with many different drugs with the same or similar effects to PCP. Thus you can have the "Ethylamine analog of PCP", but this is not the same as saying that ethylamine is an analog of PCP. The feds just added the most common analogs to the list of substances that they consider of absolutely no medical value (although PCP and its analogues, being NMDA antagonists, have grat potential medical value as "neuroprotective" drugs in the treatment of stroke/ischemia, and in the attenuation/preventaion of addiction, but thats a whole 'nother story). |
