Can LSD be detected by a standard drug test? If so, how for how long?
Q: Can LSD be detected on a standard drug test? If so, how long can it be detected for?
A: LSD is not one of the 5 substances tested for in the most standard urine drug tests. The basic tests include:




  • Cannabis
  • Amphetamines
  • Opiates
  • PCP
  • Cocaine



It's also not in the most common extended test which add some or all of the following:




  • Barbituates (Phenobarbital, Secobarbitol, Butabital)
  • Methaqualone (Qualuudes)
  • Benzodiazepines (Valium, Librium, Serax, Rohypnol)
  • Methdone
  • Propoxyphene (Darvon compounds)
  • Ethanol



LSD can be tested for, but this is done very infrequently and generally only when there is specific reason to believe LSD has been ingested. In a case where it is specifically being tested for, I believe that it remains detectable in the body for only a couple of days.
