A little bit of background on me. I have a fair amount of experience with most drugs and especially psychedelics, for the past four years I have experimented with Acid / Mushrooms / 2cB / 2cI / Ketamine / and AMT.
I have taken AMT maybe 10-12 times before the night of the trip I am about to describe. All have been pleasant experiences, most have been spiritual in some way or another, but this was easily the strongest experience I have had, which blew my mind and really helped me understand this drug for what it can do.
Before this experience my AMT trips have had slight visuals, but they have been subtle, only really noticable if you know what you're looking for, other wise I would describe the trip as a gentle MDMA with mushroom overtones, very 'Vibey' and definitely psychedelic.
The night began when I picked up my friend Tom and we drove back to my house, pretty much as soon as we were home I took out the 250mg pack and started dividing it up. I had already used some from the month before, so I would say around 150mg's were left, not including the 30mg's Tom had on him.
Tom topped his capsule up to maybe 60mgs, and I took most of what was left in the baggie, give or take a pinch of powder (freebase).
T+0 = I probably took around twice as much as Tom, and normally it would take me around an hour and a half to two hours to feel anything, but not this time. 20 minutes later I was tripping HARD.
T+20mins = My stomach was incredibly nauseous and I saw my lunch hit the sink very soon after that. Once my stomach was empty though I in the best mood, I was ready for a trippy night, and Tom just wanted to catch up!
T+1 hour = Tom was starting to come up slowly, we just talked for a long time, listened to some music, I was feeling amazing, my visuals were getting more and more intense, as strong as a good tab of acid, but thicker (hard to describe, everything just had a viscosity to it)
T+2 hours = THIS was my favorite part of the trip, we decided to explore the garden at night, and it was the best idea I'd had all night. I don't know if it was the fresh air or the good vibes, but being outside made me peak beautifully. I remember two specific moments out of all, the first we were by a tree and the leaves were glowing with life. It was completely pitch black, and yet I had no trouble seeing the leaves and the bark, it was like I could have seen it just as clearly if I closed my eyes, the energy of the tree was just communicating with me on a telepathic level, it wanted me to experience it's existence. The way the leaves were floating around the centre of the trunk was like they were stars circling the centre of the galaxy. I have never felt more connected to nature in my life, and I've had some fairly connective moments before this one.
The second beautiful moment was when we were climbing a different tree, a willow that was in the middle of the garden. We stopped near the top, and as it was raining there were little droplets of water on the bark of the tree. But the patters they made were the most exquisite diamond and gem encrusted patterns that even the most expert jewelers couldn't manufacture. It was poetic, almost as if the tree and water were mocking materialism and the diamond trade in such an effortless and beautiful way.
T+3/4 hours = Tom and I were back in my room, talking again about the brain and how to become psychic, all we had to do was mention it and our imaginations took over, easily reading each others minds. This continued in different forms throughout the rest of the night, but my favorite part was when we cracked out the bongo's, we didn't need to say a word, we could just drum our ideas to each other, and each pattern would become a new idea, and constantly evolve, like a convorsation. I can understand how cavemen must have felt, bashing away at everything they could get their hands on. We even brought some spoons into the mix getting some trills going and some rather complex patterns, and Tom's never drummed a day in his life.
T+10 hours = Still tripping, AMT always lasts ages, but I'm only just starting to come off the peak, still tripping hard, but I can tell it's a gentle slope down from here. I've never had a bad come down from AMT, it's always so kind to me, just returning me to reality, tired maybe but always sane and with plenty of new experiences, perspectives and memories.
I think the thing that was the most different from all the other trips I've had with AMT, was the dosage. This was more like a strong acid trip, or even a long (much less intense) 16 hour DMT trip. The 'tryptamine' part of AMT became very apparent at this dose. I would love to do it again, maybe measure it out this time, so I know where to stand. I don't know if I would take more than what I did. That was perfect for me!
P.S. After trying this dose, I think i might be a little more ready for DMT now, just have a feeling the tryptamine part of it makes a little more sense to me now. It's not something to be taken lightly, but can be incredibly beautiful, if loved and respected.
