I've been using Provigil on and off for the past six months. I am a full time student/musician, my days are very hectic at times. I perform at some of the biggest events that occur in my city very regularly, in addition to having a steady musical gig that is very late at night.

Provigil has helped me bust through large amounts of work with ease and has made me much better at what I do. I'll rehearse while on it and discover new things that I previously had not with my music. In fact, my performances have been better than ever with the razor sharp focus that Provigil allows me.

Provigil is much 'nicer' than Adderall. In fact, I have anxiety attacks and get very weird when I take Adderall, or anything speedy for that matter. I have horrible comedowns, get extreme anxiety, the works. It's quite miserable. Provigil, on the other hand, has a much nicer comedown. That being said, I still feel a 'crash,' of sorts, but it's more of a prolonged feeling of brain fog and typical end of night tiredness.

The problem is, I cannot sleep, so I'm awake, yet tired at the same time. In fact, it's the opposite of what a productive, get things done mood should be. This only started happening when I was using it regularly (3x a week at 200MG or less).

In fact, that's how I'm feeling right this moment. I took a final on three hours of sleep this morning, took Provigil, studyed for 4 hours for another one, and then came home. Now I'm in a half productive, zombie state where I'd really like to take a nap to refresh myself, but I know it's not happening. I have another day that requires me to be up until roughly 5:00AM, which I am certainly not looking forward to at this point.

When I first discovered it, I was convinced I had found the holy grail. In a lot of ways, I had. Now, however, the drug doesn't work quite as well. Perhaps I've built a slight tolerance. One thing that concerns me about it is that it can become a crutch very easily, as far as getting work done, which is dangerous if there is a lot expected of me on a regular basis. I've definitely found myself there a few times. After spending 12 hours studying/rehearsing while on Provigil, it is quite a drag to try to do it without the drug.

I'm down to my last pill. I've used it in total of probably 30 times or so in the past six months.

I now wish to learn to master this productivity without the drug, something that many people I know will do.

The other area of concern is that nobody knows how this drug will affect the mind over an extended period of time.

I plan to continue using Provigil, but only on occasion.

[TL/DR] It's great. Only use it on occasion. It becomes a crutch and you won't be able to be productive without it, this has happened to me. Use it for something worthwhile, like college or advancing your career.
