DOSE:
T+ 0:00
150 ug buccal AL-LAD (blotter / tab)
  T+ 4:45   vaporized Cannabis
I recently tried the chemical AL-LAD for the first time. To preface, I am an experienced user of psychedelic drugs with extensive experience with LSD, mushrooms, and DMT, but also with experience with mescaline, MDMA, the 2C family, 25i-NBOMe, ketamine, DXM, and salvia.

For LSD I usually like to take about 600ug. I only had one tab of the AL-LAD, which was 150ug, so this was the dose I took. It had “AL-LAD” written on the front a few times and part of the chemical structure on the back.

8:00 PM: I ingested the chemical. I feel calm but slightly anxious/excited because I had stopped exercising not too long ago. I will attempt to relax myself fully for the experience, but will do so without the use of cannabis as this is my first experience with the chemical and would like to try it untainted. It should be noted that my tolerance is at baseline, with my last trip at about 5-6 weeks ago.

8:20: I realize I still have the blotter in my mouth, so I swallow it. It was tasteless.
8:40: I feel warm and good. It appears that I have relaxed myself well, but I am unsure if it is the drug taking effect at this point. (In retrospect, I do not think the drug had taken effect yet.) I notice that I am in no hurry to get the experience started. Usually after I dose, I just want it to start since I have already committed myself to the experience. But now, I was infinitely patient. Time didn’t matter to me. I was accepting of whatever was to proceed, whenever it happened.
9:00 to 10:30: I begin to feel the effects of the drug and it feels like the beginning of a low dose of LSD. I alternate between talking to my brother who I have been visiting over the holidays and reading about a study conducted by James Fadiman in the mid 1960s.

10:30: I feel that the drug has kicked in sufficiently (or as much as it’s going to), so I grab my headphones and iPod and set off biking around the town.
Biking is a lot of fun, but I can’t help but feel underwhelmed by the experience thus far. I figured that this could happen, because I was only taking 1 dose, when I am used to much more in the LSD equivalent. I could lightly feel the effects throughout the ride, which lasted about an hour and a half. It is a slight, relaxing euphoria with bursts of excitement. The only visuals are slight color saturation and very mild tracers.
12:00: I return to my brother’s home. Since the drug kicked in I had been trying to compare its effects to LSD. Finally about this time, after thinking to myself, “It’s more this or it’s more that,” for a while, I settled on the conclusion that the nature of these substances prevents me from making that kind of comparison, since set and setting can change a trip more drastically than the substance. (Especially when it is so similar) So I give up on trying comparing the two substances.

12:45: I vaporize some fine cannabis. The addition has a profound impact upon the experience. (More than I thought it would) The OEV’s become very sparkly and I can see patterns on the walls. Colors are present, even in the dark. CEV’s are actually here now and are fairly intricate, but nothing spectacular. I feel like I am tripping much harder than before, but I do not feel any cannabis high, it seems like the vapor only potentiated the AL-LAD.
I read until 2:30, which is very interesting, as I usually cannot/do not like to focus on reading while tripping, but it was no problem now.
2:30: I decide that I am not tired at all and go downstairs to watch a film. I pick out Frances Ha which came out just last year. It was such a sweet, touching movie. I felt extremely empathetic towards the title character. It was a charming film that kept a smile on my face the whole time. I remember thinking what an honest, cheerful, and tender movie it was. It is filmed in all black and white, which was very interesting. In scenes that were filmed in a dark environment, it looked to me that they were actually filmed in color and they just lacked deep saturation. It was an interesting experience visually.
4:30: I attempted sleep. It took a while for it to come, but eventually I fell asleep.
I woke up feeling the effects slightly, but mostly hungry and mentally tired.

Overall, I think I need some more experience with this chemical to form a real opinion on it.
