First Experience With Gabapentin

Yesterday evening, I decided to experiment with Gabapentin to see if it would help me relax. I was quite tired and a bit sleepy. I opened the package and swallowed one 600 mg pill.

09:00 PM - I swallow the 600 mg pill and wait.

10:00 PM - no effects, I swallow two more pills, so I have 1800 mg in my system now.

10:30 PM - I still don't feel anything and I fall asleep.

I had a wonderful night of sleep and some intense dreams....

06:30 AM - I wake up felling extremely dizzy, dissociated and confused and regret having taking so much the night before, I need to get some things done today and I fell incapacitated.

I stand up to get some water and notice that my coordination and balance is affected. I get back to bed and watch some random stuff online to keep my mind busy and read some posts about other people's experiences in hope to find out how long the effects will last. I have to close one eye to read, the walls and everything around me is moving.

08:00 AM - WHAT it's 8 AM ?!? I lost the notion of time! It feels like I woke up 20 mins ago! I feel as dizzy as before.

09:00 AM - Still feel dizzy and can't really think straight, I feel uneasy, by the reports I read I should be sober by now. I can't be all day sedated, I need to leave home soon.

10:00 AM - Still feel intoxicated but a bit less dizzy and I think I'm slowly coming back to myself.

11:00 AM - I can now focus my vision better but things still move in a weird way. When I move my head, I fell less dizzy.

12:00 AM - I feel sober but tired and heavy, I usually ran the stairs down when I go out, but today I'm very slow.

A couple of hours later I have my energy back and I'm completely back to normal.

Conclusion: I have taken too much for a first time and I'm very surprised at how long the effects lasted. I had a very nice night of sleep but felt intoxicated in the morning. I will take only 600 mg tonight to see how I feel.
