I will first start of by describing set and setting as it was rather peculiar. It was the night of my 18th birthday and I was trying to copp some shrooms, I had no intention on taking them that night as I was wanting to take them with some friends in a couple of days for senior skip day. I met my friend josh that was hooking me up at the local Arbys. He was there with some of his friends who were complete strangers to me at the time. After I picked up the shrooms I decided that I would hang out and go party hoping with josh and his friends that night. That was the plan until josh had to go pick up another friend from work leaving me with these complete strangers. I stayed and talked with them for a while and I decided that I would still hang out with them. So we all piled into my car and drove to a kickback, where I again did not know a single person there.
I was there for about 30 mins of bong rips and shots until they convinced me it would be a good idea to go ahead and take the shrooms. The dosage was 1/8 of 'gold caps'. Now at this point I will mention I take 40mg of prozac daily, which is supposed to deminsh the effects of psychedelics. It had been about 24 hours since the last time I took it. So I ate the shrooms and continued to drink and smoke heavily. I was in a normal easy going mood at the time and had an okay day.
It took aproximitly 30 mins before the the effects began to happen. It started out as a mild head high with enhanced visual stimulus (everything was glowing). As the trip progressed I started to have powerful hallucinations ie. visual stretching, faces in walls and carpet that for some reason to the form of Steven Colbert, very euphoric good trip with mild anxiety about the unfamiliar location but was quickly dismissed. During the come up I had full on manifestations of faces coming up out of thin air and extreme visual tearing. As for the peak I am very shakey on what happened as I completely forgot who I was or that I ever existed. It all felt like a crazy lucid dream like I was a new person exploring a new world. The only way I know what actually happened is by matching the memory of my trip with the description of what happened by the people that were with me the next day.
I remember walking past a cop and buying cigarettes on shrooms sitting in the back of my car with someone else driving crazy. And playing with one of those big balls they sell in cages at walmart. (all confirmed by a friend the next day) It took me a while for me to remember who I was I went back to reality in a strange house 3 towns away from where I started. It took me much longer to accept the fact that it really happened and I wasnt tripping anymore.
I still am having trouble wrapping my head around it. It was like waking up from a dream only to realize it all happened. All in all it was a very powerful and good trip, and was only disturbing after it happened. Calling it a profound and life changing experience would be a massive understatement.
