After seeing some online vendor selling lotus stamens, I decided it would be a good time to try it again. I had tried it steeped in vodka at a party once, but the effects were not even close to what I felt.

I weighed out 9g on a scale and boiled the stamens in water for about 10 minutes. After straining, the tea was a deep golden brown, with pollen suspended in the liquid. I mixed in some honey to mask some of the bitter taste, it is very perfume-like.

Almost immediately I felt a sort of warming feeling in my chest, similar to a light dose of opiates or alcohol on a cold night.
15 minutes in, this warming feeling spread throughout my body like roots on a tree , and I began to feel a vibrating sensation in my fingertips. The videogame I was playing soon started to become almost overwhelming, with aspects in the environment bending and shimmering, so I decided to watch a show. Things were much more hilarious, but not the gut wrenching laughs one would expect on cannabis.

After an hour I left to meet up with my partner. Driving was very intense, I felt as though the world was moving but the car was not. I would not suggest driving on higher doses such as this. Two hours in and it seems as though the effects were peaking. Time seemed redundant, colors were intensified, I seemed better able to see in the night, probably due to the pupil dilation.
After some talking, we started to become physical. Sex was extremely more enjoyable and lasted longer. I also noted the 'recovery time' was shortened significantly.

Four hours in and the effects are beginning to taper off. The afterglow is also pleasant, I experienced elevated mood, increased hunger and thirst, and in general had a very relaxed body high. This afterglow lasted well into the next day.

In overall, this was a very interesting experience. I will most likey try this again, but will probably extract the lotus via ethanol.
