The first time I took 87mg. I didn't feel a thing. A week later I decided to try again. I took 150mg. I waited 2.5 hours. I didn't feel a thing. This =should= have been a sufficient dose, and it probably was. I then took another 125mg or so. This is a rather strong dose.
Fast forward another hour or so (+3.5 from initial dose) and I start to feel weird. I am prescribed klonopin and had some 'trip killers' (seroquel, klonopin) ready. I started feeling very... weird, and not in a good way. I was feeling extremely clammy and sweating profusely. My head was spinning. I sat like this on the couch with my wife for about an hour. I kept thinking I should take my pills to stop this madness, because I could tell it wasn't going well. I took 4 klonopin (1mg) [I am prescribed them so I have quite a bit of a tolerance], 50mg Seroquel, and 50mg propanolol - all of which to kill the experience and lower my physical symptoms (blood pressure, heart rate; more on that later).
About 4.5 hours into the experience everything hit me like a ton of bricks. I don't know if it was the first dose finally kicking in or both kicking in together. I stood up and knew something was wrong. I did not feel any euphoria, speed, or psychedelia (the supposed norms with this drug). Keep in mind this was tested 'good' stuff with other users enjoying it. I think it is important to note that during the rest of this experience I was 100% sober mentally, talking fine, and just trying to remain calm. I told my wife that I simply do not feel good and it's going to be a bad night. I went in laid on the bed and she came in with me to try and calm me down. Just writing about it is kind of giving me shivers to be honest.
I tested my blood pressure (I have a home testing kit from cocaine use; I always try to be safe). My systolic blood pressure was 180 and my pulse was 120. It is advised to go to the ER at 180 systolic. This is about +5 hours into the trip. I am still not feeling anything good. I am just profusely clammy, sweaty, I can’t walk, I feel like I have a temperature of about 300. It felt like my body was on fire. I told my wife to call a taxi to take me to the ER, right away. I checked my blood pressure again 15 minutes later after (about +5.30mins) and it’s at 200s/140d/140 pulse. This is DANGEROUS stuff. It’s advised to go to ER at 160/110. I am sitting and praying that my “abort” pills kick in, which they should have awhile ago. I am still maintaining mental sobriety - can still talk, thinking 100% clear. I have no positive effects. I am being overwhelmed by waves of destructive physical feelings.

I get to the ER and they have no idea what MDA is. They think it’s a type of weed or something, despite my explanation that I took 275mg and I said “it’s a bit like ecstasy” to the doctor, who looked at me like I was crazy. My pupils were the size of my eyes according to my wife, who was very relaxed and helpful during this experience. We were only at the ER for about 20 minutes, where I presented with 180/120/120 blood pressure/pulse. They did nothing. They put me in a room and nobody came and talked to me. What I think happened is that my “abort” kit finally started kicking in.
I finally started relaxing. The seroquel was making me extremely drowsy, as it should. The klonopin was taking the edge off. All my numbers started returning to normal. And at about +6 hours I finally start feeling the positive effects of MDA. This lasted about 20-30 minutes, probably because of the medication I took to stop it, which I think if I hadn’t of taken I would have been in hell for much longer. The positive effects, regardless of how short lived, were quite intense and enjoyable. I had no psychedelic feelings and I never felt mentally high. Everything was physical. I was ROLLING HARD like I might on ecstasy with no speediness or psychedelia. I would close my eyes and live out miniature scenarios/lives behind my eyeballs (I do that a lot on drugs) and open my eyes and they’d stop and I’d forget them. I hallucinated some bugs running on the wall a few times but no tracers or red/green psychedelic overtones. I was finally calm and just kind of rolling nicely. I told my wife let’s go home, after I never even talked to a doctor. We talked to a nurse for 5 minutes who kinda just BS’d with us and said I probably shouldn’t take MDA again and I laughed and agreed.
I got home and passed out from the seroquel.
The moral of the story here is that, in my opinion, if you take a dose of MDA you should not re-dose, unless you have some experience with the drug. It literally took 3 hours to feel the effects
It literally took 3 hours to feel the effects
To me cocaine is all the bad parts of ecstasy, and MDA is all the bad parts of cocaine. I personally think nobody should exceed a dose of 150mg - and I advise even stronger that they should probably just stay away from this drug in general. I’d give it a 1/10. I’d also like to add that I was 100% “sober” throughout the entire experience. Literally everything was a physical feeling, except for some of the “visions” if you will, but they didn’t play a huge part in the overall experience of terror.
