I broke my fibia (calf bone, the smaller bone in your lower leg behind your shin bone), when I fell off my mountain bike. I managed to ride/limp home and then sent my flat mate out to buy strong (8%) cider to kill the pain. A couple of litres of this did not work, but by the time I'd drank that the offy was shut so I couldn't get any more.
I had no weed in, but eventually I remembered some nutmeg that I'd bought for a 'drug experiment' several months earlier. I decided to eat the nutmeg in the hope that it would stop my leg from hurting.
I decided to eat the nutmeg in the hope that it would stop my leg from hurting.
In the meantime I had roasted the nutmeg together with a roast dinner but then left it uneaten for 3 or 4 months. In this form I found it far easier to eat (whole, ie. ungrated) although that might have been because I was drunk. It was, however, just as psychoactive.
In short, it seemed to be effective as a painkiller, or at least a pain ignorer, in much the same way as cannabis was, once I eventually got hold of some, lasting for about 2 and a half days. I did remain drunk for most of my waking hours (spending alot of time asleep or half asleep), whilst stoned on the nutmeg, but I don't think that my drinking affected it.
I didn't notice a comedown this time but that might have been because the sense of pain overwhelmed it, or because the gin drinking drunkeness did.
In conclusion, nutmeg works quite well as a painkiller, lying around, too stoned to do anything for a couple of days, but marijuana is probably a better bet, or going to the doctor.
