I am a 66 yo male who has had experience with virtually every opioid / opiate known to mankind (and am fortunatally still around to share my experiences). So, I'm no "newbie" when it comes to discussing the effects and experiences with them.

Due to it's relative ease to procure and reasonable price, tapentadol has become my new DOC. Put in layman's terms, it is pretty much like a very strong tramadol.

The subjective effect of Tapentadol for me is pretty similar to oxycodone (I would equate 100 mg of tapentadol to about 10 mg of oxycodone). The "buzz" for me is also pretty similar to a 10 mg oxy. My normal daily dosage of tapentadol is 400 mg IR taken all at once early in the day. Onset of effects is almost always exactly 30 minutes. The buzz is quite significant, and effects remain pretty intense for about 4-6 hours. Also if I am in withdrawls or detoxing from other opioids, tapentadol will do a pretty good job of keeping me from being sick (better than kratom).

I have determined after 6 months of use that the tapentadol is the only reason for the occurance of my myoclonic jerks. The jerk is pretty severe and occurs instantly, and then is gone instantly (there is no extended effect or "cramping" of the muscles involved). The jerks only occur about 2 hours after I take tapentadol, and after the tapentadol effects wear off the jerks are gone and do not persist.

Anyone else familiar with tapentadol had similar experience? While they are irritating, as far as I know they are not dangerous.
