I'm 20 years old, and for only a few years now, I've been experimenting with substances. My personal taste favors mental highs. I am a big fan of weed and shrooms but I'm wary of stuff that has a more physical high and a higher chance of addiction. I'm also not sure I'm ready for the hours of madness associated with the more potent hallucinogens. A close friend of mine, T, had been experimenting with salvia leaf, with little success. As a last resort, he picked up a vial of 15x, and needless to say, it worked. He lives across the state from me, and recently, a road trip with two of our other friends (S and C) led us to our first experiences with the mighty salvia.
First try
There were five people in the cramped dorm room. In addition to the other people mentioned was T's roommate, M who had also tried and enjoyed salvia.
S took the first hit. He smoked the small pack that the bong could hold, and while he was holding it in, T prepared a second batch. After his second hit, he proceeded to lay on the floor and giggle, while trying to explain to us that he was no longer human, and was trying to figure out what he was. I had seen the guy high many times before, and it was similar to that, so I sat down and prepared for my turn. The same procedure, except that just as I had inhaled the second hit, I started to cough, and then it began. The room immediately took on odd proportions, everything seemed to be very distant from me. I became aware of two things at once, first that there was a center of force located somewhere beyond my feet (I was sitting on the floor with my feet straight out in front of me) and everything was being drawn into this point. I felt a strange pain in my forearms and the insides of my legs, as if my body was resisting this force, and the pain was the consequence. I became aware of subtle differences in the room. The faces of those around be became angular, almost cubist, and the Christmas lights strung up around the room seemed to give the walls and cieling a jagged edge. I was also overwhelmed by this sensation I can only describe as the fusion of a loud noise, which was the fans in the windows, and the jagged feel of the walls. I had trouble moving, and it was a difficult task to wipe the drool from my mouth that had accumulated from the coughing. I lay back and waited for it to pass, which it did, and left me disoriented for a while after.
Second try
The next day, I decided to give it another go. T packed the bong to capacity, and I took the hit while he prepared the next. Before I could hit it, however, the salvia had already yanked me back into the world of pain. I looked at the bong like it was an alien artifact, and then just gave up and layed down. The pain was back, but I was more coherent this time.
The pain was back, but I was more coherent this time.
Conclusion
Respect this substance. I've read reports of strange things occurring with 5x and 10x extract. The 15x is very potent, and I only need a small amount to experience the effect for ten minutes. I can't stress enough the importance of a sitter. Not just to keep you from doing something stupid, but sometimes, you just need someone there for support. Salvia is all about instant gratification, and it's easy to be caught off guard. My experience would seem negative, but I'm planning to try different settings to hopefully get rid of the stabbing pains. I enjoyed the experience. It was very intense.
