In an attempt to decrease the nausea and increase the desired effects of LSA, I recently completed the following procedure:
1. Remove seed coating with knife.
2. Grind finely as possible in coffee grinder.
3. Soak in non-polar solvent ~3 days (pet ether, Naphtha, white gas)
4. Filter solution through coffee filter; discard solvent and retain plant material.
5. Allow complete drying in cool, dry and dark area.
6. Put dried material in water, mix it for 20-30 minutes.
7. Consume water and plant material.
This method produced very strong effects with minimal nausea (one 5-15 minute period, no vomition). I have attempted numerous other methods, as follows:
Sublingual - no nausea, but no effects either
Full extraction (pet ether, then 100% ethanol) - no nausea or effects
Grinding & water extraction - extreme nausea, slight effects
This partial purification protocol seems to be the most efficacious and least nausea-inducing preparation method; the majority of the vomition-inducing compounds (cyanogenic glycosides) are removed via scraping and dissolution in pet ether, and the majority of LSA's are retained. Some nausea will still be present, but at a much more tolerable level.
