Exercise and Poppy Tea

I have been reviewing the articles about poppy tea for a while and became curious to the point where I decided it was worth a try. I take mood stabilizers and anti-psychotics daily so I thought it would be a good idea to list my dosages for posterity, I guess. I also have been moving in the direction of a healthier lifestyle so I take vitamin supplements especially the b's. I find they give quite a lift and help dealing with stress. Included in my health plan are biking/walking, lifting weights and the will sapping task of getting off cigarettes.

I received some Papaver Somniferum heads the other day and decided that I would follow one of the recipes from the vaults. I had cinnamon sticks, mint tea in bags, and sugar on hand, but no anise or licorice. I would have liked to use honey but the taste of the tea was quite pleasant with the supplies on hand.

Around 8:00 p.m. I took a Dramamine for nausea then began to prepare the concoction I broke up three medium sized heads (about 3 grams) a little with a knife. I then put the pieces in a coffee grinder grinding on the coarse setting until there was a mix of powder and small bits of material. I boiled I cup of water in a tea kettle. Next I poured the boiling water into a mason jar to measure with the cinnamon stick, 2 spoons sugar, 1 bag mint tea, and poppy matter. I let it sit until it was almost cool, filtered it into another mason jar through a metal strainer, and had it all down in a few gulps. It tasted great too.

I had planned on working out later that day with my friends. Around twenty minutes after ingestion we were warming up. Jokes were really funny, I laughed a lot more easily. At the same time my friend said I was quieter than I usually am. The workout lasted about an hour and it was great. The alkaloids of the plant made it so I could exert more energy without feeling the slight pain that comes from doing a lot of reps especially with sit ups. So I feel it was a nice aid for a more strenuous workout. I also experienced a very pleasurable rush while bench pressing. I made another cup of tea around 9:30p.m. Following the same recipe after the work out because I wanted to tweak it up a notch. Then we decided to watch a video so we made a run into town for beer and crisps. (I didn’t drink just in case there would be a reaction.) The movie was pretty intense, I don’t like how “Hollywood” encourages the stigma of mental illness. My memory gets a little fogged trying to recollect during and after the movie. I decided to surf the web a little before sleep around 1:30 a.m. During the chatting online I found myself nodding off and dreaming that I was awake then waking up and everything was slightly altered. So I made my goodbyes feeling a lighthearted and drifty mood and went to sleep. The sleep was quite sound. I awoke with a little bit of a sour stomach but that could have been from the junk food. No constipation.
