This all started about two weeks ago when a friend of mine purchased an ounce of dried salvia leaves along with a gram of 5x extract and a gram of 10x extract from an internet vendor. I had heard of salvia before and had been moderately interested in trying the plant for about a year, but had never actually gone through with buying any. So a few days after buying the salvia, I recieved a phone call from my friend, who I'll call X in this story. X informed me of the salvia and asked if I wanted to come over that weekend with a few of his friends to try it. Of course, I jumped at the opportunity to try the plant for the first time.

When I arrived at X's house that Saturday I was pretty nervous. I had done quite a bit of research on salvia over the last year, especially during the week leading up the first time. That's just the way I am with every substance I ever try. I will never try a drug without having first educated myself thoroughly on the drug's effects and without having spent at least a couple of weeks reading through experiences and trying to get a solid base for what to expect. At this point in my life I am in a very unstressful and happy stage. I just finished my senior year of high school and am attending college in the fall. Right now I am on summer break and life is about as good as it gets, so I really wasn't too worried about a possible bad trip. But regardless, I was still pretty nervous, as with any new drug experience.

We all, myself, X, and one of our mutual friends, who I will refer to as Y, gathered in a circle on couches around X's bong. X had already tried salvia once a few days before with his brother and had claimed to have had a great trip, but that he didn't remember much. X packed the bong about 3/4 full with dried leaves and then topped it off with the 10x extract. I'm not positive on the dosage, but I would have to say between .25 and .5 grams of dried leaf and just a pinch of the 10x extract. Myself and Y watched as he slipped off into neverland. About 10 minutes later after X came back to reality, he claimed he felt as if he had melted into the couch, almost as if his body was being pulled backwards into emptiness. He also reported having seen a stone wall next to him with a large wooden door in the middle. He said he opened the door and went in, but doesn't remember anything after opening the door. After hearing this I was pretty excited for my chance to go.

I took a few long, deep breaths while X packed my hit, the same way he packed his. After taking the hit I held it in for probably a good 30 to 45 seconds before exhaling. I had ghosted the hit completely and was pretty sure I was about to enter into a good trip, but as I lay back on the couch, nothing ever happened. I felt something, sure, but nothing like a trip. It was more of feeling of having just taken two or three bong rips of some good weed. Y decided to back out for fear that he would freak out during his trip so that's where the experience ended. I was left feeling very unhappy with the whole experience. Of course everyone tolerates every drug in a different way than others, so my thought was maybe I just have a higher tolerance than X and just need more salvia next time. So when I got home that night I looked online for some info on first time effects of salvia and read on a few sites that like marijuana, salvia can take a couple of tries in order to truly experience the effects. This gave me new hope to try again.

About three days after the first experience I was ready to try again. Once again it was myself, X and Y at X's house gathered around his bong. This time I decided to go first. I decided not to pack more than I did last time in hopes that after having tried it once the second attempt would be stronger and for a first time experience I didn't want to be overwhelmed. So once again, we packed a bowl about .25 to .5 g of dried leaves and a pinch of 10x extract. I took a few deep breaths and a huge bong rip and laid back on X's couch. This time the effects hit much quicker and stronger than they did before. It started with an enhancing of my vision, in other words my vision became much sharper and more colorful. Then I got a tingling sensation in my finger tips and feet similar to that of when your foot falls asleep. It quickly spread through my whole body and I was feeling great. My mind was racing and I was in a very giggly mood. Of course, X and Y decided to tell jokes to make me laugh and I couldn't control my laughter. I was having a great time laughing but I knew from my research that the effects of salvia were much greater than this and that's when I decided If I wanted to truly experience the drug then I needed more. X had just finished packing a bowl for himself when I stopped him and told him to let me take the hit, and that I could feel I was on the edge of tripping but just not quite there. He gladly agreed and I once again took a massive hit, held it in, and then laid back again.

This is where the fun all started. My visions quickly started to become blurred. Well actually I shouldn't say blurred, it was more of a haze, I could see everything fine but it all had a weird hazy kind of look, almost as if I was seeing a comic book. My body felt like it was being pulled in all directions, but in a good way. It felt as if my sense of self-space was expanding. Then the hallucinations started. My vision had now faded to complete blackness except for two things, the images of X, who was on my left, and Y who was on my right. I'm not sure if I had closed my eyes, causing the blackness and was experiencing closed eye visuals of X and Y, or if my vision had just faded around X and Y, but regardless, that's what I saw.

But X and Y seemed different. Slowly but surely, in the slightest of ways, they were both changing. After about 5 minutes, or so it seemed, of this changing, X on my left had taken the form of an apple and Y had taken the form of a bunch of grapes. However, they weren't realistic looking fruit, they were like comic book drawings of fruit, and their faces were still there. It was almost as if they were wearing fruit costumes like the people in the underwear commercials. I was shocked to find that when I looked at myself, and yes, somehow I could see myself, that I appeared to be a banana. It was almost as if I was someone else standing behind the three of us watching us, because I could see my entire body.

Suddenly, a woman appeared in the distance, she was middle aged, but unrecognizable. She was carrying a shopping basket and staring first at X and then at Y and shaking her head. Then it occurred to me that she was shopping for the three of us. Then her focus turned to me, and she reached out picking me up and in my head I yelled out for help to X and Y but no sound came out, because I thought I was a banana and I knew bananas can't speak.

Then the most amazing and bizarre part of the trip happened. The unknown woman peeled me like a banana and my vision split in half. It wasn't painful it just felt as if my body were being pulled to both sides. However as she peeled me, my vision began to peel back to reality. Picture a zipper running down the middle of a black background. Then the zipper unzips downward and in the middle is your normal vision. It was truly an amazing sight to see my vision peel back to normal piece by piece, and by the time I was fully peeled the whole room was back to normal. I still felt extremely high for the next ten minutes or so, basically the same feeling I had during the first experience a few days earlier. I spent those next minutes trying my best to explain to X and Y what had just happened, but I really don't think the way I was expressing myself at the time was effective at all in describing it.

I loved the experience and would do it again in a heartbeat if given the chance.
