My name is chris. I am 17 years old. I am the captain of my football team, a ladies man, and a very good friend. Crack changed all of that. Heres my story

I was smoking weed ever since I was about 15 but then I got bored with it. Me and my friends tried hallucinogens from time to time and pain meds and when I got bored with that I decided I wanted to do coke. I did powder coke for the first time and loved it. I did it whenever I could and it was my drug of choice. One night I was at my neighbors house. We had been friends for about 2 years and had been friends ever since each other did drugs. We had been there for each other as each of our interests changed in drug choices. Anyways, I had a $20 bag of soft coke. He had some heroin. He asked me if he could get a little bit of my coke to mix with his heroin and I initially said no but I was drunk and he nagged me for about half an hour. I agreed that I would give him some if he promised to ride me down to the city later on in the night and get me some more. He agreed and snorted some dope and coke.

About an hour went by and it was 2 in the morning so I wanted my end of the deal. He was acting very sketchy and went into another room to call the dealer. He came out of the room and said I have good news and bad news. He told me the good news was that his guy said we could come down and the catch was that it wasnt soft coke, it was crack. I was very angry but I agreed because it was 2 in the morning and I had nothing to do. We went down to the city and met up with the dealer and back home we headed.

My friend packed me up a little hit, I put it to my mouth and as soon as the fire touched rock I felt the affects. It felt like I just scored the winning touchdown of a game, like someone just told me you've become president, like a girl complimenting you. My throat went numb and my body felt warm, it was the biggest rush I've ever had in my life.

It's about a year later as I sit here at 3 in the morning with no money and cant sleep. Since that first hit my whole life has changed. I have lost substancial weight. I never have money because as soon as I get money I go and buy crack with it. I havent hooked up with a girl in over 2 years because all I care about is crack. My friend whom I tried the drug for the first time with went to rehab, came back and relapsed, and is not the same person but neither am I. I literally have dreams every night about crack. I dream I have large amounts laying next to my bed and I wake up thinkng my dreams are real and nothing is there. I cannot tell the truth anymore because all I care about is getting high. I almost have straight E's and I dont go to parties anymore to have fun because when I smoke crack I get paranoid. Crack has ruined my life. I didnt think it could happen to me but it did. Previous to trying this drug for the first time I used to come onto this website and read others experiences and after I read all theyre addiction stories I used to always think it could never happen to me. It did. I hope my mistakes can save someone else.
