1-2 leaf oral Tanacetum parthenium (fresh)
BODY WEIGHT: 170 lb
I have found an aspect of feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium) that seems to be unmentioned in the literature. It has a reputation as an anti-migraine and anti-depressant, but the I use it for anger abatement.

I'm generally easygoing, but on rare occasions some affront will happen along, and trigger fury. From prior experience, I know it takes a day or more before the risk of lashing out (verbally) and deeply damaging a relationship passes. Knowing intellectually that lashing out would be regrettable is not enough, the emotions are too roiled up. Chewing up and swallowing a leaf or two of feverfew, fresh or dried, (homegrown plants from [Canada vendor]) allows me to reach an emotional state of forbearance in half an hour to an hour, and I can let go of the anger.

Feverfew produces none of the distortions of space, time or perception associated with psychoactive drugs; it is unpleasantly bitter; it will never make it as a party drug. Feverfew's action is so narrow it could easily be missed.
