DOSE:
3 mg oral Melatonin
    smoked Cannabis
Read a report about melatonin taking the edge off of marijuana's negative effects and thought I should share my experience with this combo.

After being a daily smoker of cannabis for several years one morning while preparing for bed I took a 3mg pill of melatonin followed by smoking some marijuana. I jumped in the shower to clean up. Shortly into my shower I began to experience psychedelic effects of an alarming intensity. There was little in the way of hallucinations but the psychological effect was similar to the head voices and confusion that come along with a TOO LARGE dose of LSD. Even having been an habitual daily smoker this was way too intense for my comfort. There were some mild closed eye visuals but the effects were as I previously stated largely psychological. I experienced deep insight but an inability to concentrate on one thought for more than a few seconds at a time. This was very similar to the part of a large LSD trip that I just have to SIT OUT.

I have experimented to see if it was in fact the combo that caused these effects and there is no doubt in my mind that the mixture of the two caused these effects. It seems to happen whenever the melatonin is taken about 30 mins prior to smoking. On all occasions the marijuana was a Sativa Indica hybrid variety (dont know if this makes a difference or not). By no means did it help me fall asleep. I have also experienced similar effects with cannabis and 5-HTP leading me to believe that non psychoactive tryptamines do however possess the ability to greatly potentiate the effects of cannabis.
