After a while I realised that not everyone falls when they laugh, so I researched it on the internet, and found out it was called cataplexy, and it is associated with narcolepsy. I knew I had these because my symtoms matched so closely. After a while I convinced my parents to see a doctor, which I was then sent to a neurologist, then a sleep specialist who sent me to do a sleep lab. Surprise, I had Narcolepsy.
My parents are afraid of most drugs so they didn’t want me on anything until this year, my freshman year of college. So I took some provigil, this would put me in a good mood, but eventually it stopped working for my narcolepsy, I started falling asleep in class again. I ended up just taking it as a study drug for when I was not in the mood to do a ton of homework.
Yesterday, I went in for a checkup with the sleep specialist to try out “a longer lasting provigil” called nuvigil. I took it this morning, an hour before my calculus class. I had a quiz today, but for some reason I just stopped in the middle of it and stared at the paper for like 5 min. I could not find the critical numbers for F(x)=x*(x-1)^(1/2) in the intervals [-1,1]. I don’t know if this problem was especially hard, or if it was the drug, but I could not do it. Also I should point out I had been falling asleep in that class all week. I had aced every quiz and test before this point. I don’t know if it was just because it was my first time taking this drug or if its always like this, but I'll take it all next week to see how it goes.
Other than this, I should probly write how I'm feeling right now (2 hours after taking). Well for one I would never write this much and feel entertained. I don’t know the quality of this writing, but I'm not stressing anything. I feel slightly anqious* (I'm normaly a bad speller), and am in an overall good mood, even though I just failed a math test.
