A Walking Sleep
Amitriptyline

DOSE:
85 - 100 mg oral Pharms - Amitriptyline
BODY WEIGHT: 250 lb
I've been taking Amitriptyline for three days now as a sort of research method to determine whether or not I should give it the green light for recreational use. After much thought, Amitriptyline is not a fun drug, period. It is indeed for those who need it and have a script for it.

While trying different doses each time, I found the higher I went the more discomfort I experienced. Lower the dose, I can't seem to remember enough to even write a report. The effects themselves don't suddenly onset. Rather, when I do feel anything, it'll be like I was high for the last hour or so and I just don't remember when it happened. The onset itself is very subtle, sneaky almost.

On about 85mg or so, I noticed a great distortion between what was real and my surroundings, similar to a 3rd or 2nd plateau DXM trip. I'd suddenly be doing one thing, lose focus entirely and resume doing my current activity or move on to something new altogether, not really knowing I was doing this either. My eyes were constantly heavy and my limbs all the more tingly and rigid. Movement is very difficult, almost as if my body is cumbersome.

At 100mg, all of the previous effects seem to triple, making for a very stony and strange trip. The only new effects that seem to happen are extremely heavy limbs and border line unconsciousness. This happened on my third night of 'testing'. I was using my PC to surf the web and could not even focus on large or colorful fonts. Everything felt like a whirlwind of discomfort and anxiety.
Everything felt like a whirlwind of discomfort and anxiety.
Paranoia was easily off the charts from a scale of one to ten; I was terrified at every small sound my house would produce. I did not notice pupil dilation, however they did get very small and fluxuate between tiny to large.

The only positive thing that this god awful medication granted me was a deep, restful sleep of well over 17 hours a night. I'd wake up in the middle of the night at times and feel as if my body was firmly cemented to my bed. This was not a welcoming feeling; it was almost as if I were experiencing horrible sleep paralysis.

The next day is always a god awful hang over. I would walk around and stumble into things all while slurring my speech around company and such. There is also this absolutely rancid after feeling that follows a dosage. It's very hard to describe, but it's almost day ruining.

Other than that, I would NOT recommend this to any hungry junky like myself eager for a quick fix or new experience. It is by no means 'fun' or even mind opening. Amitriptyline is probably the worst substance I have ever tried recreationally. Please do not use this unless as intended for depression/sleep problems.

Trip report as follows:

0000: Dosage, 100mg Amitriptyline

0015: Nothing, other than a nagging headache and some spacey feelings. Probably psychological.

0035: Turned on some tunes and began to play Terraria, still not noticing any strong effects.

0050: Eyes began to feel heavy as I reach the hour mark. My focus is still intact.

1020: Arms and legs feel tethered if not anchored to the chair I'm sitting in. My head sways to and fro as the desire for sleep grows stronger and stronger.

1040: My head feels horrible, headache gone away. Focus is at an all time low, it is very difficult to type without making mistakes. Staring off for no particular reason.

2000: Two hour mark and things are in full gear. Heaviness in my body, extreme desire to sleep, mind feels like it's in four different places at once. This is becoming a tad scary.

2030: I jump at every noise I hear, constantly looking around to make sure no one is looking at me, even though it's 2AM and everyone is sound asleep. I can't even move from my spot, fingers are like lead weights.

2050: General discomfort and a strong urge to urinate. I doubt I'll be able to, so I must hold it in until I start to come down a little bit. Music does sound slightly nicer; albeit visual images are very harsh and odd to the eyes.

3010: I can barley move. I stumbled downstairs to go grab some water for my dry mouth, probably made much noise in the process. Clumsy.

3030: The desire for sleep is overwhelming. I trek to my bed now.

As I stated, this is not a fun recreational drug. It offers little to no value to anyone seeking a thrill, unless you're into masochistic drug behavior. It you don't mind feeling like complete crap and useless, then by all means go for it. To the weary reader, don't do it. There are many other easier to obtain drugs than this. I'd much rather chain smoke a pack of cigarettes than live through another trip of Ami.
