DOSE: |
100 mg | oral | Pharms - Valproate | |
350 ml | oral | Cacti - T. pachanoi | (extract) |
BODY WEIGHT: | 85 kg |
1 bottle san pedro juice
1000mg sodium valproate
Having acquired a 4.25kg san pedro cactus, I had prepared a batch of six 350ml juice extracts. I had previously determined that half a bottle was a threshold dose, and decided to experiment with a full bottle. I am an epileptic, so have been proceeding with caution - mescaline is a phenethylamine, which can be problematic - and I increased my usual dose of anti seizure medication (valproate) to be extra safe.
The bottle was not too bad to drink - no nausea involved. First alert very quickly, within 30 minutes. Well affected within one hour. I spent time relaxing in bed, cruising the net and feeling pretty good.
10:00
Time for a shower. I feel a heavy body load and am very aware of my body. The shower feels good, shaving feels wonderful.
11:00
Music time. Music sounds very much like it normally does. Not all weird and spacy like it can with pot. But mescaline gives me strong synesthesia, sounds base, makes my vision flash. I found this very enjoyable. Closed eye visuals are happening - sometimes lame and boring, occasionally amazing rolling three dimensional vision. I stare at clouds and they morph in freeze frame.
13:00
Lying on bed inside, listening to more music. I stare at the ceiling watching open eyed visuals. They are not terribly interesting. They are subtle, dim bands of colours in whorls like fingerprints.
14:00 - 21:00pm
My girlfriend arrives so I have to be straight, which is remarkably easy. There is a closeness in love making, but orgasm was not reached.
23:00pm
Still some closed eye visuals.
Impressions:
Well, its fun, but this is not anything I have not seen before. It is all just tricks of the brain. Maybe because I have epilepsy I am more aware of it, but I doubt it. It is all about clock speed of my brain - that is why there are trailers following my hand as I wave it in front of my face. Again, why music and strobe light make nice close eye patterns.
Most of all I am disappointed in the lack of emotional response. I reach no great conclusions or moments of breakthrough. Pot has proven infinitely more powerful in this respect. Furthermore, mescaline might be too subtle for me. I am in control all of the time. I need to coax it to come out and play.
Conclusion:
A good substance to explore. I still have four bottles to go, so I will keep exploring and maybe up the dose.
