Erowid Announcement #53
March 18, 2005
Friends of Erowid,

Ten Years Ago...
...after choosing the name "Erowid" in February 1995, the domain name "erowid.com" was first registered in March 1995.

In the last announcement we mentioned that in February 1995 we chose the name "Erowid". We received a couple of emails asking for more details about how the name was chosen. If you're interested, the answer to that question was published in Erowid Extracts #2 and can be read online at:
Erowid.org/general/about/about_faq_etymology.shtml

Remember, the Mindstates VI Technology and Transcendence conference is coming up soon in San Francisco, Memorial Day weekend May 27-29. Buy your tickets soon to get the best price and reserve your space. We'll be there running an Erowid table...come join us!

We welcome submissions, suggestions, criticisms, or corrections at submissions@erowid.org.

    Erowid.org/experiences/exp_info2.shtml

This overview describes some of the history of the Experience Vaults and where we're at as we work to complete the beta test of the new triaging system. We're working towards improving the throughput so that, in the future, most reports would be read and reviewed within a month of submission. But that is still a long way off. :)

  3. Meperidine Vault
