Romanian drug laws are formulated into a series of four tables that are generally similar to the U.S. Schedules with Table I the most restrictive and Table IV the least restrictive. Drugs in Schedule IV under U.S. law are mostly found Table III under Romanian law. Table IV includes ephedrine, safrole, and other things considered precursors under U.S. law.
