“Side effects of LSD”.
Med.J. Aust. 1967;54(II):1168-1168.
Abstract
Whatever the rights and wrongs of tripping outside the therapeutic place, and the matter is more complex than some think- it is important that we should be fully aware of any concrete harm that may result from taking lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD). The consumption of the drug-illegally obtained, inaccurately measured and undoubtedly often contaminated with other chemicals-has risen (in America over the past five years amd more recently in Australia and the United Kingdom) as more young people seek the experience of having their minds "expanded" and of tasting the supposed fruits of mysticism without the pains of becoming a mystic. As a result there has been a paralles increase in the numbers of adverse mental reactions reported among "acid heads".
